Celebrating the Roe Valley's sporting heroes thumbnailEglinton Paralympic sprinter Jason Smyth will be the special guest at this year’s Limavady Sports Council awards night.

LIMAVADY Sports Council has announced that the world's fastest Paralympian, Eglinton's Jason Smyth, will be the special guest at this year's Roe Valley sports awards which will take place on Friday September 29. The visually impaired Team Ireland star has recently had success at the World Para-athletics Championships in London where he won two golds in the T13 100m and 200m track races to add to his numerous gold medals including Paralympic golds.
The annual event will be held in Limavady Recreation Club and local sporting teams and clubs are now invited to submit their entries. Nominations are welcome in all categories from clubs and individuals to reward achievements gained in 2017.
