Alexander The First!

Thursday, 3 August 2017

SCOTTISH driver Gordon Alexander became Scotland's first ever Hot Rod World Champion when he was victorious in the Clive Richardson Ltd 2.0 Hot Rod Championship of the World at Tullyroan Oval on Sunday.
In the build up to Gordon lifting the spoils, the opening day of the DMC Race Promotions Summer Speedweekend last Saturday saw some excellent race action at Aghadowey Oval, culminating in a fantastic European Lightning Rods Championship victory for Portadown's Jordan Rochford.
The other major title on the line was the Ninja Karts National Championship which fell to Hampshire's Kasey Jay Jones with a brilliant drive.
Also on the bill were the all important World Championship qualifying heats for the 2.0 Hot Rods and Irish Open Championship qualifiers for the ProStocks.
Completing the on track action were the Stock Rods where Curtis Greer raced to a win in the day's final.
