OVER 1,500 young swimmers from 25 clubs across Ulster hit the water to compete in the Forest Feast AquaSprint Junior Swimming League Finals in partnership with Swim Ulster, earlier this month.
Limavady Swimming Club raced to the top of their group to be crowned champions of Division B.
In Cookstown, Division B finalists Limavady, Dungannon and Newry were going head to head in a tight competition gain promotion to Division A. After a very tight race, Limavady emerged victorious in the end with Dungannon placing 2nd, and Newry finishing 3rd.
Competing in eight locations, the top three teams in each of the four divisions (A, B, C and D) battled it out to see who would bring the coveted Forest Feast AquaSprint trophy home, with the remaining teams competing to avoid relegation.
Andrea Cahill, Marketing Manager at Forest Feast said: "Good nutrition and physical activity go hand in hand, and that was one of the reasons why Forest Feast decided to sponsor the AquaSprint League seven years ago.

“Getting kids active is so important these days and the AquaSprint League is fantastic way for them to develop their skills and have fun with their team mates. We are delighted to continue our partnership with Swim Ulster to bring about such an enjoyable competition. We want to congratulation every swimmer who competed in the League final.
“The day itself is the pinnacle of months, if not years, of hard work, dedication and commitment and it was lovely to be part of that celebration with the competitors, their families and their clubs. The atmosphere was palpable and we are looking forward to next year already."
