Maximum attack by Maxwell thumbnailAdam Maxwell, winner of the Hankook Tyres National Hot Rod Rd 13 final at Tullyroan on Saturday night, receives the sponsorís award from Corrie Beggs with grid girls Paula Currie and Haley Bevan

THE high speed National Hot Rods contested the 13th and penultimate round of their World Qualifying Series at Tullyroan on Saturday night and it was the current World Champion Adam Maxwell who came out on top in the evening's final, taking the spoils after an exciting night of oval racing.
The opening heat took place on a drying track as the day's rain gave way to a warm evening which gave all the pit crews difficult decisions to make with late tyre changes right up to the last seconds before the start.
Right from the start, it was obvious that World Champion Adam Maxwell was on the move - the Crumlin ace slipping ahead quite early on to take the chequered flag from Jaimie McCurdy. However, the eagle eyed race steward had seen Adam 'jump' the race start and he was docked two places in the final, handing victory to Broughshane's Jaimie McCurdy ahead of Keith Martin (3rd).
