Mull Rovers progress to Cup quarter final thumbnailBBOB player Andrew Dunn and Mull Rovers player Denver Johnston in action during their Trevor O’Neill Memorial Cup match this week

JP McQuillian and Gareth Pitts were two happy men as their Mull Rovers team progressed to the quarter final of this year's Trevor O'Neill Memorial Cup.
After the disappointment of performances over the past few years, BB were a far better team this year and they were holding their own against a good Mull Rovers outfit.
On a perfect playing surface, both teams tried to play good football. Mull Rovers players Larkin and Johnson were starting to take control of the midfield and only for a disappointing final ball, better chances could of been created. BB, to their credit, were giving as good as they got and looked very dangerous on the counter attack. With 36 minutes gone, BB once again went on the attack and a great piece of football brought a goal for BB through Adam Dougherty and no more than they deserved.
As we all know, football is a funny game and 2 minutes later, a piece of madness in the BB defence gave Rovers the opportunity to equalise when Mickey Smith scored.
This certainly inspired Rovers as the remaining time left in the first half belonged to them and only for great goalkeeping by BB's Aodhran Campbell did the scoreline remain 1-1 at half time.
