Irwin wins last lap-thriller thumbnailGlenn Irwin celebrates his Blue Ribbon triumph with girlfriend Laura Magee and their little baby son, Freddie

A FINAL do or die move by North West 200 returnee Glenn Irwin saw him clinch a breathtaking win from Alastair Seeley in the Blue Ribbon Superbike Race.
Irwin lost the lead after being held up by a back-marker on the deciding lap as he approached Church Corner before snatching it back along the coast road.
His Ducati Panigale R got better traction out of Black Hill and the twenty seven-year-old made it count as he rode around the outside of Alastair Seeley on the approach to Juniper Chicane. He went on to take the chequered flag by 0.172 of a second to spark off wild celebrations in his team and among the fans.
Irwin acknowledged the result was 'a dream come true', especially as this was the first time he rode a Superbike around the Triangle course, and had little time on the Italian bike during Thursday practice which was cut short following a serious accident at Primrose involving Honda Racing's John McGuinness.
