Sport and Leisure Swifts...............1 Limavady United............0

ON the day when the leaders of all three divisions lost, perhaps Limavady's was the most surprising, however a closer look at their record against Swifts will show that they have not claimed a single point in their two previous visits to Glen Road.
Perhaps it is the narrow, bobbly pitch or the dogs-of-war style of football that the Roesiders have encountered. Whatever the reason, any visiting supporter could have predicted a struggle for their favourites, especially without all action Hugh Carlin bolstering the midfield. For anyone unsure of what to expect, the opening five minutes told the tale. Swifts nearly scored twice in the opening ten minutes, first when Crown was nearly caught inside the six yard box and secondly in the tenth minute when Burns was allowed a free header from an in-swinging corner which was goal bound until Connor Harkin cleared from his position on the near goalpost. Immediately, another corner was met by Daniel Largey but he headed agonisingly wide.
United were almost entirely unable to keep the ball down and when they did, they were harried and hustled.
Their first chance came after 25 minutes as McCready crossed to Hume whose shot was deflected over the bar. But they were relieved when the referee disallowed a goal after the Swifts' scorer was adjudicated to have jumped into a defender before forcing the ball into the net.
