ON a foul, rain drenched night, Limavady United took, perhaps the most significant step towards retaining their title, as they ground out a hard earned win against dogged opponents who had chances to snatch at least a point. It was the deadly duo of Hume and McCready who weighed in with a goal apiece to claim the points.
United started brightly with Hume shooting wide of the far post from inside the box in the third minute. For most of the next quarter of an hour, they kept the visitors pinned back but with little end product.
