ANOTHER week, another promotion rival put to the sword. United cruised to a record victory over Donegal Celtic with ease in a performance that can leave no doubt as to which is the best side in the league.
Of course, that is far from guaranteeing that United will retain their title, but after three consecutive games when they have overcome three of their nearest opponents on their own pitches , with an impressive goal difference of thirteen-plus, they must now certainly be the bookies' favourites. United got off to another good start, with Owens testing McElhone inside the the first minute, but his shot lacked power. However, they went ahead only two minutes later as Hume outpaced his marker down the right wing and cut the ball back from the byline, to be met by Carlin, who timed his run into the box perfectly to steer the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
