Racing star Stewart back on track! thumbnailNinja Kart star Stewart Hanna with his four titles proudly displayed on the roof of his 39 Kart.

BALLYKELLY based Ninja Kart racing star Stewart 'Stewarty' Hanna is gearing up for the 2017 campaign ahead of the first meeting this Saturday, March 11 at Aghadowey. In 2016, 'Stewarty' proved that he was the driver to beat in the 6-11 year old category, which sees the young stars of the future go wheel to wheel on the short circuit ovals.
During a brilliant year, 'Stewarty' won the Tullyroan Oval Challenge Cup, the Golden Helmet, was Irish Points Champion and also secured the Irish Championship.
In truth, Stewart has had little time away from racing over the winter as in January, he, along with his mechanic dad Darrell and mum Barbara, made the long journey to the Arena Essex track to contest the World Cup races. On a freezing weekend, he did everything he could to bring that title back home but eventually, just missed out on the top honours. The experience will do him good as he now heads into his last full season in the Ninja Karts before his 11th birthday in October.
Stewart's main focus this year will, of course, be on retaining the four titles he currently holds which is, by no means, an easy thing to achieve, in an ever expanding field full of established drivers and new drivers who will take to the track this weekend.
