Super Slaughtneil book their place in All Ireland Final thumbnailSlaughtneil’s Josie McMullan and Siobhan McKaigue celebrate at the final whistle.

SLAUGHTNEIL.........................3-8 BURGESS-DUHALLOW.................3-6

IT just keeps going Slaughtneil's way, as the ladies of the club turned in a wonderful performance to beat a strong Burgess-Duhallow team from Tipperary and stake their place in the All Ireland final.
They will now face Sarsfiled's of Galway who beat Thomastown of Kilkenny by 0-8 to 0-7 in the other semi final.
Slaughtneil played with passion and pride and wonderful ability and even when the favourites had cut their lead back to a point the girls from the shadow of Carntogher dug deep to win by a deserved two points. The late Thomas Cassidy who had managed the team until his illness would have been proud of the display and particularly by his three daughters Bronagh, Eilis and Aoife. Current manager Martin McEldowney deserves the highest praise by the manner in which his team played. They showed no sign of nerves as they took an early 1-1 to 0-0 lead and at half time were 1-4 to 1-1 in front.
