Limavady United cruised to victory in this Saturday morning friendly by eight goals without reply.
Star of the show was Shane Jennings with a hat trick, showing the form that has brought him an under 18 International call up. The teenager was unstoppable and could have easily doubled his total. His first came on 8 minutes with a shot from the left side of the box. Soon afterwards Clarke made a darting run into the box but hit the post with keeper beaten. Patton then scored the second after being put in by Steven Lowry who unselfishly passed the ball to the striker. Jennings nearly scored again when he pounced after the keeper spilled Patrick's shot but he also hit the post.
On 42 minutes Clarke was scythed down for a clear penalty. Goalkeeper Michael Doherty grabbed the ball and despatched the spot kick with aplomb. It was his only contribution to the game as all the pressure was on his opposite number. In the second half Jennings thumped the ball off the crossbar with an early chance. Substitute Kelly had a screamer acrobatically tipped over.
On the hour lowry was waiting on the edge of the box and lobbed the ball past the unsighted keeper although substitute O'Loughlin may have got a slight deflection.
Five minutes later Stephen Kelly, playing in an unaccustomed front role, sent over a delightful crossfield pass and Jennings was lurking on the edge of the box to chip the keeper with a clever finish.
A short time later Jennings had a close range shot cleared off the line but the ball fell to Kelly who flighted the ball home from close range. On 70 minutes Jennings got his hat trick when his fierce low shot was too hard for the keeper to hold and the ball crossed the line. Kelly was revelling in his frontman role and from close range he lifted the ball over the keeper but the shot was cleared from under the bar.
The scoring was completed by Paul Owens who side footed the ball into the net from wide on the goal line after Jennings again cut across the box.
