Nearly 500 new homes set for Gorteen site thumbnail

ALMOST 500 new houses, and a new school, are in the process of being considered by Causeway Coast and Glens Council to be built on the old site of the Gorteen House Hotel in Limavady.
Comprising of approximately 70 acres the site of the popular hotel has been derelict since it was demolished.
On the back of their outline approved plan for the comprehensive development of the site, and adjacent lands, Coleraine based Consultancy firm GM Design Associates has told the Northern Constitution they are in the process of resolving the last few remaining technical issues with Causeway Coast and Glens Council.
It has been confirmed that Council are currently assessing two other planning applications for housing development on the adjacent lands, which along with the GM Design Associates application will provide a combined total of 476 dwellings.
