Police to increase presence due to rise in crime thumbnail

THE PSNI have revealed to the Northern Constitution it is to increase it's presence in the Limavady area following a "significant spike in crime."
Speaking exclusively Chief Inspector Mark McClarence said that despite there being a decrease in reported crime in Limavady in 2018, there is a need to ensure recent criminal activity does not escalate.
Inspector McClarence was reacting to a series of criminal incidents in Limavady in the past two weeks, in particular the hate crime graffiti on St Mary's Church.
Chief Inspector Mark McClarence said: "An individual was arrested and released on bail pending further enquiries in relation to the hate crime graffiti on St Mary's Church, last week.
“There has been a decrease of 15 per cent in reported crime in Limavady, despite this there is a significant spike in crime recently.
