THE province's oval race fans were treated to another busy weekend of on track action with meetings at both Ballymena Raceway and the Tullyroan Oval.
Ballymena Raceway kicked off the action on Friday night when the high speed National Hot Rods topped the bill as entrants contested Round Ten of their Hankook Performance Tyres World Series. Mark Heatrick was the big winner on the night with a somewhat fortunate first place in a final full of incidents.
A 17 car entry for Round Ten of the Hankook Performance Tyres World Series NI saw the first appearances in 2018 of Gary Wilson and Philip McCloy.
Heat One saw the demise of points chart leader Adam Hylands who was sidelined with a broken clutch, ruling him out of action for the rest of the evening. The in form driver of 2018, Glenn Bell was also a casualty in this race as he ground to a halt early on.
The race stewards also saw their first action of what was going to a busy night when they took action in disqualifying Adam Heatrick for his part in contact on another car.
