‘It’s an honour and a privilege’ thumbnailMr. Darren Mornin, the principal of Limavady High School.

MR Darren Mornin has been appointed as the new Principal of Limavady High School and The Northern Constitution had the opportunity this week to speak to the new principal.
Mr Mornin had been Acting Principal for almost two years during challenging times in the education system and commented that it was "an honour and privilege to have been appointed as the sixth Principal of this hugely successful school."
He has fulfilled many roles in the school community during his 14 years of service. He described how he had started Limavady High School as a Youth & Community Tutor and later took over responsibility for the school's vocational courses. This led to his appointment as Head of Year and later as Vice Principal in charge of Curriculum Development with responsibility for Shared Education.
Mr Mornin stated: "This is such as special place to work. As a school community, we celebrate the uniqueness of each pupil and recognise that the success of our pupils is directly linked to the partnerships and relationships that exist with pupils, staff, parents, governors and indeed the wider community.
