SPORT Northern Ireland has announced a new multi-million pound National Lottery capital programme and sporting clubs, groups and individuals in the Roe Valley are invited to attend an application information session in Limavady later this month. The 6.7m Multi-Facility Fund, managed and administered by Sport NI, will offer grants up to 1,000,000 towards projects which create a multi-facility environment of four or more different sports types located on a single site.
Sport Northern Ireland Chief Executive, Antoinette McKeown announced the new funding during a visit to a training camp for Northern Ireland Commonwealth Games boxers at the Sports Institute.
Antoinette McKeown said: "Sport plays a vital role within local communities and we have seen from investments to date, the very positive impact which high quality sports facilities have on sporting communities, from grassroots through to high performance level."
