THE first phase of jobs is set to begin at the new Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) Headquarters site in Ballykelly in the coming weeks, as 240 staff positions are set to be filled. DAERA have confirmed the new £20 million relocation project will commence movement of the first 240 staff in March of this year.
East Londonderry MP Gregory Campbell wrote to the Permanent Secretary at the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) regarding plans to have staff in the new building.
The Permanent Secretary has responded confirming the news that "within weeks" this will become a reality. Mr Campbell and his DUP colleagues have been pressing for the site for a number of years.
