15-year-old youth on attempted murder charge

A LIMAVADY teenager who allegedly attempted to murder a "vulnerable" man has been remanded in custody. The 15-year-old appeared alongside Padraig Brolly (18), from Rosseden Drive in Limavady at North Antrim Magistrates, sitting in Coleraine, on Friday, December 29.
The youth who can't be named because of his age was charged with attempted murder, attempted intimidation, two counts of criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, two counts of assault on police and resisting police.
Brolly was charged with attempted GBH with intent, attempted intimidation, criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and possession of a class B drug.
A police officer said he was able to connect both teenagers to the charges.
The court heard how at around 3.15am on December 28, this year, the pair allegedly approached the rear of a house of their victims, which included an 18-year-old man who was described as having "learning difficulties" and classed as "vulnerable."
The mother of the boy had been sleeping when she heard a commotion outside. She opened her window and asked the men what they were doing.
