FRIENDS and colleagues of Landmarc Support Services (Landmarc) have scored a hole-in-one by raising over £40,000 as a result of their recent golf tournament to support Eglington local Jennifer Smyth.
Held at the prestigious Gleneagles luxury golf resort and championship course in Scotland, the event, which took place on Wednesday September 13, attracted more than 50 keen golfers.
The money raised will be donated to Jennifer's Journey, a cause that supports Jennifer Smyth from Eglinton, who at 16, was a rising gymnastics star before a freak training accident left her quadriplegic in 2013.
Jennifer has made great progress and in an emotional moment at the evening's gala dinner and charity auction, was able to walk into the venue with the help of a robotic exoskeleton from specialist company Rewalk.
