CAUSEWAY Coast and Glens Heritage Trust (CCGHT) are teaming up with Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council to hold a 24 hour long BioBlitz to record the coastal wildlife from Downhill to Magilligan.
Over the 24 hour period, scientists, naturalists and members of the public will work together in a race against the clock to find as many species as possible within the selected area.
The event takes place on Saturday July 29 and Sunday July 30 from 11am to 11am. CCGHT has partnered up with a host of other organisations to run a series of events throughout the recording period, including butterfly walks, a marine mammal watch and a bat event, to name but a few.
The 'BioBlitz hub' is based at the Benone Tourist Complex and the recording area stretches from Magilligan Point to Mussenden Temple, covering the entire Special Area of Conservation on publicly accessible land.
