Roundabout vandalism ‘a repeat of last year’s attack’ - Chivers thumbnailThe Lisnakilly roundabout in Limavady.

SINN Féin councillor Brenda Chivers has condemned the latest vandalism of a roundabout outside Limavady and parts of the Seacoast Road.
Cllr Chivers said: "Lisnakilly roundabout on the outskirts of the town had Red and Blue paint added to it again at the weekend in a repeat of last year's attack, although this time, the people responsible have managed to complete the job and covered the whole roundabout.
"This paint needs to be removed as soon as possible to ease already heightened tensions in the town. In recent months, we have seen attacks on Sinn Féin election posters, paramilitary flags erected and now curbs and roundabouts being painted in an attempt to mark territory.
"Having contacted Transport NI, they have informed me they do not have the money at this time to repaint the roundabout and do not wish to put their staff at risk. I have also been in contact with the PSNI.
"It is not just residents and locals who will find this distasteful as the roundabout is in close proximity to the Roe Park Hotel which was full of visitors for the Irish Open just last week.
