A YOUNG Limavady man says he is "optimistic and looking forward to the year ahead," after under going his second kidney transplant in less than two years. Back in 2015, 30-year-old Sean McKeever, a quantity surveyor and former Wolfhounds GAC player, found out that both his kidneys had failed.
“It was devastating for me and my family," said Sean. "I never imagined this would or could happen to me."
Before receiving the shocking news, Sean, who had played Gaelic football with his local GAA club most of his life, explained that he was forced to stop playing football in 2014 because he was feeling "very unwell."
“I was feeling so sick and tired. I just didn't have the energy to continue playing football. I was constantly feeling unwell but I never imagined my condition was so serious," he said.
