Six arrested, Cocaine worth £80,000 seized

THE war on drugs in Limavady saw a major victory for police this week when local officers swooped on a number of premises and recovered a substantial amount of drugs and related paraphernalia. Some six people were arrested following the searches which took place in various locations in Limavady town last Thursday and Friday. Officers from the PSNI's Crime Team in G District seized a significant amount of suspected cocaine following a search of a house in the Glenbeg Walk area of the town on Friday.
The value of the suspected cocaine is thought to be approximately £50,000. The find comes following a number searches at homes in the Glens area of Limavady last Thursday (January 26), as part of an intelligence led drugs operation.
Several significant seizures were made including suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of over £30,000 and the discovery of a cannabis factory in the attic of another property.
Herbal cannabis, cannabis resin, mobile phones, drugs paraphernalia and over £2,500 in cash had also been seized.
Officers also recovered a quantity of cannabis resin with an estimated street value of approximately £500 from residential premises at the Sperrin Road area on Thursday afternoon.
